Right of WayTraining capability for transport authorities

Practical training, with neutral facilitation.

Built around your Authority’s work.

Every in-person course combines preparation, focused expert input and facilitated application. Your team then applies the learning to its own work, strengthens its judgement and leaves with programme outputs it can use.

COURSE SUMMARY

The learning cycle.

01

Before the day

Before each course, we use a short diagnostic to understand your evidence, decisions, constraints and delegates. It identifies the questions the session needs to answer.

02

Expert input

Facilitators explain the key concepts and draw on relevant cases. The ticketing, ITS and AI courses include more taught content; the others are mainly workshop-led.

03

Applied workshops

Your cross-functional team works on its own problem, records the challenges it faces and tests different views openly.

04

Clear outputs

The group leaves with usable outputs, a written record of its reasoning and agreed actions. Each delegate can choose an optional learning check and receives a certificate of attendance showing their CPD hours.

05

After the day

As your team starts to use the learning, delegates can send follow-up questions to the course team through optional After-Course Support.

Designed for your whole Authority

Bring the cross-functional colleagues needed for the decision: programme, finance, commercial, operations, technology, customer and governance.

Make room for different views.

Bring concerns and different points of view. A decision has not been tested if everyone already agrees.

Neutral facilitation.

We examine options fairly against your evidence. We will not steer your Authority towards a predetermined delivery route.

Once you book.

Preparing for your courses.

  1. Step 101

    Confirm the proposal

We send a short proposal covering the course, dates, delegate group and cost. When you approve it, your Authority raises a purchase order. We invoice after each course, and payment is due within 30 days of the invoice date.

  2. Step 202

    Prepare the room

Each attendee group has six to ten people. The room needs a main table for group work, clear wall space, a screen, power and Wi-Fi. When we deliver at your offices, we set up the day before.

  3. Step 303

    Plan the day

We agree timings, refreshments and any access or accessibility needs. We then send pre-work to delegates. Your Authority names a coordination contact for the duration.

After-Course Support

Support after your course.

After-Course Support lets delegates ask the course team about issues that arise as they apply the learning. Each written response sets out the relevant information, the options open to your Authority and a recommendation. Your Authority makes every decision.

Pricing

Standard response: £150 plus VAT for a written answer with a clear explanation. Detailed response: £250 plus VAT for a documented response that requires research, references or a set of options.

The retainer lasts six months. Any balance left unspent at the end of the term is not refunded. Our responses are guidance for your Authority to consider. Please do not include personal or sensitive data in your question.

  1. Step 1

Your Authority agrees a six-month retainer from £5,000 plus VAT and names the people who can submit questions. We invoice the full retainer at the start and send a monthly statement showing spend.

  2. Step 2

A delegate submits a question and background information through our online form, so that we have the context needed to respond.

  3. Step 3

We confirm whether a question needs a standard or detailed response. If the question is too open, we arrange a short call to agree its scope.

  4. Step 4

We aim to reply by email within two to three working days. If we need longer, we tell the delegate when to expect a response.
